ESV. Yakubu Auta Haruna FNIVS, RSV.

The General Manager/CEO of Greater Karu Development Control Agency (GKADCA) is a holder of Masters Degree (M. Tech.) in Estate Surveying and Valuation from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi,Bauchi State. 

He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers. 

A registered Estate Surveyor and Valuer by Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria (ESVARBON)

Before his appointment as the General Manager/CEO of Greater Karu Development Control Agency (GKADCA), he was the Principal Partner/CEO, Haruna & Associates, a firm of Estate Surveyors and Valuers with its Haed Office in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.

He was a Council Member of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers from 2014 to 2019.

He was the Chairman Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers Nasarawa State Branch from 2014 to 2019.

He was the Chairman Consortium of Attorneys on Valuation and Compensation of Keffi to Makurdi Road Dualization.

He was the Consultant on Assessment and Payment of Compensation on the Dualization of Makurdi to Enugu (9th Mile Junction).

He is happily married with children.

ABOUT US

The Greater Karu Development Control Agency was established in December 2021 by His Excellency The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule administration. After being passed into law, the Agency began operations effectively in October 2024.

*Geographical Coverage*

The Agency's planning coverage spans Karu, Keffi, Kokona, Nasarawa, and Toto Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Nasarawa State, with its Head Office located in Abacha Road, Karu LGA.

OUR SERVICES

Our Responsibilities 

The Agency's primary responsibilities include:

- Planning and Policy Implementation: Developing and implementing plans and policies for the Zone.

- Building Plan Approval: Reviewing and approving building plans to ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations and safety standards.

- Inspection and Enforcement: Conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans, permits and regulations.

- Physical Development Planning: Creating residential, industrial and commercial plans.

- Urban and Regional Law Enforcement: Administering, executing and enforcing urban and regional laws.

_ Urban Renewal Policy: Carrying out urban policy and renewal implementation.

_ Urban Development and Infrastructural Provision: The Agency carries out Urban Development and provide infrastructural facilities.

- Environmental Protection and Physical Development: Promoting and securing physical development and environmental protection through land acquisition, management and disposal.

- Policy Coordination and Monitoring: Formulating, monitoring, controlling and coordinating physical development policies, plans and activities within the planning areas.

By performing these functions, the Greater Karu Development Control Agency plays a vital role in shaping the built environment, promoting sustainable development and protecting the environment.
